What is the Educator Advantage Card (EAC)?

Simple! Formerly entitled the Educator Discount Card, it is Jazz at Lincoln Center's (JALC) benefits card for K-12 educators interested in jazz and jazz education. Not only does it provide discounts and benefits to concerts and events here at JALC, it also acts as a key to engaging with the resources and network offered by JALC jazz education. Don't forget that it is your pass to special events and activities here at Jazz at Lincoln Center!

What are the EAC benefits?

Tier One Benefits

  • 50% off any Jazz at Lincoln Center produced event, including educational programs and concerts at Frederick P. Rose Hall, day of the event.
  • Cover charge waived for one every Monday night at the UPSTARTS! sets at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola ($20 value).
  • 15% off Swing University classes (up to $37.50 in savings per class).
  • 10% off all JALC print music catalogue and Jazz for Young People® Curriculum purchases

Tier Two Benefits (New!)

  • Special EAC card-holder-only access to $10 Hot Seats for select JALC Concerts at Frederick P. Rose Hall

Why are there two tiers of Benefits?

All educators who participate in JALC education events (Jazz for Young People™, Jazz in the Schools, Essentially Ellington, etc) and programs automatically receive an EAC card and tier one benefits.  All tier two benefits are eligible only to those educators who complete an EAC survey

If you are a ’07-’08 EDC card holder, you need to complete a survey in order to receive a new EAC card and both tier one and tier two benefits.

Who is Eligible?

All ’07-‘08 EDC members are eligible along with interested K-12 teachers and administrators in the NYC area interested in bringing jazz education into their classrooms and schools.  All teachers who participate in '08-'09 JALC education programs will automatically receive the EAC card and tier 1 benefits. TO RECEIVE YOUR EDUCATOR ADVANTAGE CARD AND ITS FULL BENEFITS, YOU MUST FOLLOW THE LINK AND FILL OUT THE SURVEY LISTED BELOW.

HOT seats!

Would you like a $10 Hot seat for an upcoming concert listed below?  Hot Seats are available to ’08-’09 EAC card holders only!   Limit of two tickets per card holder.  ’08-’09 EAC members will receive an email approximately a week before the eligible concert date delineating the process for obtaining Hot Seats.  You will be able to email your request to eac@jalc.org.  A limited number of tickets are available.  An email confirmation will be sent prior to the concert, and tickets can be picked up at the will-call window prior to the start of the concert.

Essentially Ellington Program

14TH ANNUAL ESSENTIALLY ELLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ BAND PROGRAM--*NEW FEATURE*

Essentially Ellington (EE) is a unique program for high school jazz bands that extends the legacy of Duke Ellington and other seminal big band composers ('08-'09 seminal composer is Benny Carter) and arrangers by widely disseminating music to high school musicians for study and performance. EE members receive original transcriptions and arrangements, our informational newsletter, teaching guides, reference CD and are invited to join us for regional festivals, conference presentations, an essay contest and our annual Competition & Festival each May. How can I purchase 50% off tickets?

Tickets are subject to availability and must be purchased on the day of the event at the Jazz at Lincoln Center Box Office, which is located at Broadway at 60th Street. Please present your card at the Box Office at time of purchase. Limit two tickets per event.  Note: this discount cannot be used to purchase tickets online or through CenterCharge.
How can I make reservations for Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola?

Reservations for Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola may be made at any time with the reservations hotline, (212) 258-9595 or online at www.jalc.org/dccc.  Food and drink minimums still apply. Sets begin at 7:30pm and 9:30pm.  Present your Educator Advantage Card at the club entrance on the 5th floor of Frederick P. Rose Hall. Limit one cover charge waived per educator advantage card.

How do I get $10 Hot Seats for JALC Concerts?

First, you must fill out an EAC survey. You can fill out an online version of the survey at jalc.org/eac.  Once we have received your completed survey and your tier 2 EAC benefits have been activated, you will receive an email approximately a week before the eligible concert date delineating the process for obtaining Hot Seats.  You will be able to email your request (up to 2 tickets for one concert of the concert series available) to eac@jalc.org.  A limited number of tickets are available.  An email confirmation will be sent prior to the concert, and tickets can be picked up at the will-call window prior to the start of the concert.

How many times can I use my card?

You are welcome to use the card as many times as you like until the expiration date, August 31, 2009.

Can other educators use my card?

No, the Educator Advantage Card is non-transferable. Benefits may not be claimed by anyone other than the cardholder.

What if I lose my card?
