A key figure in the 1960s transformation and cross-pollenization of jazz with the emerging rock and world music movements, saxophonist Charles Lloyd was one of the most engaging and intriguing figures to come out of the post-bop era. His distinctive tone has been defined by technical brilliance informed by a lifetime of spiritual questing and creative collaborations with artists and musical philosophies from around the world. Now, after a brilliant five-decade plus career, Lloyd will be making his JALC debut with his New Quartet, featuring pianist Jason Moran, bassist Reuben Rogers, and drummer Eric Harland.
